Peremova
We take on the digital side of work, so that Ukrainian language researchers can focus on their research.
Peremova is an initiative that brings together linguists and technology. We help independent researchers, scholarly and cultural institutions create digital resources for the study, preservation, and development of the Ukrainian language — from dictionaries and language corpora to learning platforms and digital archives.
The idea of Peremova was born out of Slovotvir — a platform dedicated to finding Ukrainian equivalents for loanwords.
Slovotvir drew the attention of a wide range of people. Hundreds of thousands of users didn't just look up Ukrainian equivalents for loanwords — they joined in discussing and selecting them.
That popularity showed how important a role digital tools can play. Peremova builds on that idea, expanding the scope of work and the range of people we can help. We want to support anyone working with the Ukrainian language in creating digital resources for the study, preservation, and development of the language.

Dictionary of Loanwords
A dictionary of foreign loanwords in Ukrainian, where every entry is compiled and reviewed by professional linguists. Each entry lists its origin, one or more meanings, a native Ukrainian equivalent, and usage examples with references to sources.

Historical Dictionaries of Ukrainian
A future digital home for the historical dictionaries of the Ukrainian language — a single searchable window onto its lexical heritage across the centuries. The first of them, the Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language of the 16th to the first half of the 17th century, is already available online.
